Founded on the initiative of actors Fanny Bastien and Geoffroy Thiebaut, both in love with the Haute Vallée de l’Aude, the Festival du Film Insolite is well rooted in a small village of Rennes le Château. This small village, perched on its hill, is an esoteric and vibrating place, whose history would have inspired Dan Brown to write his famous novel “Da Vinci code”.
The first edition of the festival sees the light of day on August 10, 2015, with Pierre Richard as godfather and Andréa Ferréol as president of the jury.
After its first editions, the Festival du Film Insolite de Rennes-le-Château gradually expands its influence, becomes itinerant and international. Film screenings, conferences, dedications, musical interludes, photo and painting exhibitions, are all scheduled in places steeped in history.
