Villebazy rises on a small rocky hill overlooking the surrounding area. Its origin goes back to the IXth century, it was a fortified castle of which there are no more traces. It belonged successively to the Counts of Carcassonne and to the Abbey of Saint Hilaire. Today, Villebazy is a wine-growing commune located in the production area of the Blanquette de Limoux.
