Bouriège

Small rural village, crossed by the river “la Corneilla” , Bouriège is formed of three agglomerations. To the west the recent village, to the east the older village with the cemetery, the church and the remains of the castle of Bouriège and, further east the oppidum of Carla where during the various excavations, very important objects were found there, going from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages, showing a certain continuity of habitat on the site. All the remains found on the site are in the Petiet Museum in Limoux, they are not on public display at the moment.
